Some organizations use Tango Cards to provide digital rewards, prizes, or expense reimbursements through CommuteHub.
A Tango Card is a digital reward sent directly to your email. Depending on the options enabled by your organization, you can redeem it for gift cards from popular retailers, prepaid Visa/Mastercard options, charities, or other digital rewards.
☝️Program setups, conversion rates, and reward options vary by organization. Some features described below may not be available in your specific CommuteHub workspace.
Fixed vs. Dynamic Tango Cards
Organizations can offer Tango Cards in two standard formats:
-
Fixed Amount Cards: Predetermined voucher amounts requiring a specific point milestone.
- Example: You must accumulate 1,000 points to claim a $10 card, or 5,000 points for a $50 card, with no custom amounts in between.
-
Dynamic Tango Cards: Flexible-value vouchers where you choose the exact amount to redeem based on your available point balance.
- Example: If you have 1,234 Commute Points and your organization uses a 100:1 conversion rate (100 points = $1), you can redeem your exact balance for a $12.34 Tango Card to cover a small expense, like breakfast.
☝️Points-to-dollar conversion rates (e.g., 100:1 vs. 1:1) and minimum redemption thresholds are set entirely by your organization. The amounts and conversion rates shown here are for illustrative purposes only.
How to Earn and Claim a Tango Card
Depending on your organization's setup, you can receive a Tango Card through three primary methods:
1. Redeeming Points in the Rewards Section
If enabled, you can directly exchange points earned from logging eligible commutes:
- Go to the Rewards tab in CommuteHub.
- Locate the Tango Card offer (e.g., "Tango Cash - Choose Amount" or a fixed gift card option).
- If using a Dynamic Tango Card, adjust the slider or enter the specific number of points you wish to redeem.
- Confirm your selection and click Redeem.
2. Winning a RaffleSome organizations host regular raffles in the Rewards tab where Tango Cards serve as the main prize. You can enter available raffles using your accrued points. If selected as a winner, your card will be processed and emailed to you automatically following the drawing.
