CommuteAI is your AI assistant inside CommuteHub. It helps you complete everyday tasks, find information and ask questions about your commute program.
Here are answers to some of the most common questions about CommuteAI.
Q: What is CommuteAI?
A: CommuteAI is an optional assistant available in the CommuteHub app and desktop version. It can help you log or update trips, check active challenges, view your progress, find information about rewards or parking and compare commute options. What is available depends on your organization’s CommuteHub setup.
You do not need to use CommuteAI. Everything it can help you with can also be done manually in CommuteHub. Here is an article on how to use Commute AI.
Q: Is CommuteAI the same as the AI Agent in the Help Center?
A: No. They are two different tools.
CommuteAI is available inside the CommuteHub app and desktop version. It can use relevant information from your account and may complete actions for you, such as logging a trip.
The CommuteHub Support AI Agent is available on the Help Center website. It helps you find Help Center articles and general information about using CommuteHub. It does not use your CommuteHub account information and cannot complete account actions for you.
Q: Where can I use CommuteAI?
A: You can use the full CommuteAI experience in the CommuteHub app or desktop version. Depending on your organization, CommuteAI may also be available through Slack or Claude. More integrations may be added in the future.
The features available through Slack or Claude may be more limited. They also depend on your organization’s setup.
Q: Why might CommuteAI work differently for someone else?
A: Each organization chooses which CommuteHub features and integrations are available. Your account permissions can also affect what CommuteAI can show or do. This means another user may see different options or receive a different answer.
Q: Is CommuteAI a general chat tool?
A: No. CommuteAI is designed to help with CommuteHub and commute related questions. It is not intended for general conversation or questions unrelated to your commute program. Keeping your questions focused helps CommuteAI give you more useful answers.
Q: Can CommuteAI make mistakes?
A: Yes. Like every AI tool, CommuteAI can misunderstand a question or provide an incorrect answer. Please review important details before relying on an answer or confirming an action. If something does not look right, ask CommuteAI to correct it or make the change manually in CommuteHub.
Q: How can I get better answers?
A: Be clear about what you need and include helpful details such as the date, transportation mode or location when they are relevant.
Instead of saying, “My trip is wrong,” try saying, “My bike trip from Tuesday was recorded as driving. Can you help me update it?”
Q: What information can CommuteAI access?
A: CommuteAI may use information from your CommuteHub account to answer your question or complete a requested action. This can include your trips, challenge progress, rewards, parking information and other features made available by your organization. CommuteAI’s access is limited by your account permissions, the features available to your organization and the information needed to respond to your request.
Q: Will CommuteAI make changes to my account?
A: CommuteAI can complete supported actions when you ask it to, such as logging or updating a trip. Review the details carefully before confirming an action whenever a confirmation step is shown. You can also check your account afterward and correct the information manually if needed.
Q: Is my information used to train AI models?
A: No. When you use CommuteAI in the CommuteHub app or desktop version, your conversations and CommuteHub account information are not used to train AI models.
If you access CommuteAI through Slack, Claude or another external service, that service’s own terms and privacy practices may also apply.
Q: How long is my CommuteAI conversation kept?
A: When you use CommuteAI in the CommuteHub app or desktop version, your recent conversation is stored temporarily so it remains available if you refresh or reload the page. CommuteAI is not designed to provide a saved, long term chat history.
Actions completed through the conversation are different. For example, if CommuteAI logs a trip for you, that trip remains part of your account just as it would if you logged it manually.
Q: Should I share personal information with CommuteAI?
A: Only share information that is needed for your commute question or task. Do not enter passwords, verification codes, payment details, government identification numbers, medical information or confidential information about another person or your employer.
Q: What should I do if CommuteAI cannot help me?
A: You can complete the task manually in CommuteHub, contact your organization’s CommuteHub admin or submit a support request.
