There's something genuinely special about watching two people find each other through carpools, vanpools, and bikepools and actually start commuting together, and this month we added new intelligence to help users connect more easily.
More visibility. More active connections.
One of the biggest challenges in shared commuting is timing. A user might post a carpool, bikepool, or vanpool opportunity, but how do others know if that person is still looking?
With our latest update, users can now see when the person behind a pool post was last active.
Activity labels such as “Active this week”, “Active this month” or “No recent activity” give users more confidence when deciding which opportunities to explore. A recently active user is more likely to respond, making connections feel more promising.
We’ve also improved the way pool posts are displayed. Opportunities from recently active users now appear higher in the Pools section, helping users discover more relevant and up to date commuting options first.
Coming Soon: Proactive Matching
|
Timing is one of the biggest challenges in shared commuting. A user might post a carpool, bikepool, or vanpool opportunity, but there is no way to know if someone with a matching route is out there yet. With Proactive Matches, launching soon, that changes. Imagine posting a carpool route today, but no one reaches out right away. Weeks pass, and the post slips into the background. Then a new colleague joins the company, searches for that exact same route, and is also looking to carpool to work. Instead of relying on them finding your old post, CommuteHub automatically plays matchmaker. As soon as their search matches your route, we send a push notification, an in-app alert, and an email to bridge the gap. From there, you can get straight to planning your first shared commute. |
